{"id":83,"date":"2017-05-05T21:34:40","date_gmt":"2017-05-05T20:34:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asarchery.co.uk\/?page_id=83"},"modified":"2018-04-12T16:39:22","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T15:39:22","slug":"equipment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.asarchery.co.uk\/index.php\/equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Equipment<\/h1>\n<h2>Bows<\/h2>\n<p>There are many bow types used around the world and in the UK. \u00a0There are too many to list here but we will list what we use ourselves. \u00a0We only use Recurve bows for training.<\/p>\n<p>The main bow style used today is called the Olympic bow. \u00a0This is also known as a Recurve bow due to the shape of the limbs.<\/p>\n<p>We use Take Down Recurve Bows as they are easy to use, transport and have a huge range of limb lengths\/weights (power) available to us.<\/p>\n<p>We use light draw weight bows so you can learn more easily and get the techniques for archery right before trying a bow with more power.<\/p>\n<p>The Olympic Bows come in three sections, two limbs on the ends made of wood and fibreglass. \u00a0There are other materials that can be used but the majority of limbs are made from wood and fiberglass. \u00a0The centre section is called the riser and can be made from many materials but we mostly use risers made from aluminium alloy.<\/p>\n<p>There are other bows styles we use &#8211; Compound, Longbow and also some one piece recurve bows.<\/p>\n<p>Again there are many more bow styles but we concentrate on Olympic Recurve Bows and sometimes bring other bows for people to see.<\/p>\n<h2>Arrows<\/h2>\n<p>Arrows can be made from many materials. \u00a0Most modern arrows are aluminium alloy. \u00a0There are carbon fibre, wooden and fibreglass arrows in use as well as some arrows made from carbon and aluminium.<\/p>\n<p>We use Aluminium arrows as they are quite strong and fly well.<\/p>\n<p>Wooden arrows are always used with Long Bows.<\/p>\n<p>Our coaches use either full carbon fibre arrows or composite carbon and aluminium arrows for their own shooting.<\/p>\n<h2>Personal Kit<\/h2>\n<p>We use Bracers on our bow arms (the arm holding the bow) to keep clothing out the way and Tabs on our string fingers (the hand that pulls the string) to make drawing the bow more comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>We might also use a shirt guard to keep clothing out the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Equipment Bows There are many bow types used around the world and in the UK. \u00a0There are too many to list here but we will list what we use ourselves. \u00a0We only use Recurve bows for training.
